Vouchers can be a powerful tool for wineries, offering unique ways to engage customers, run promotions, and build partnerships. They work much like cash, making them versatile for a variety of scenarios, from tasting room experiences to corporate gifting. Vouchers in eCELLAR provide flexibility in how they are created, distributed, and redeemed, making them ideal for enhancing customer engagement and driving sales.
Creative Ways to Use Vouchers at Your Winery
- Tasting Room Promotions: Encourage visitors to explore more by offering vouchers that can be redeemed for tasting fees, wine purchases, or even merchandise. This can be an effective way to promote new wines or exclusive experiences.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Team up with local businesses, such as Vino Bike Tours or nearby hotels, to distribute vouchers as part of a package deal. For example, a bike tour could include a voucher for a wine tasting or a discount at your winery, driving more foot traffic to your location.
- Wine Club Rewards: Use vouchers as incentives for wine club members, either as part of a welcome package or as rewards for referrals. You can also offer vouchers for discounts on future purchases or special events, enhancing the value of membership.
- Corporate Gifting: Integrate vouchers into corporate gift packages, allowing recipients to redeem them for wine or tasting experiences at your winery. This approach can introduce your brand to new customers and create potential long-term relationships.
- On-site Event Prizes and Giveaways: Use vouchers as raffle prizes or giveaways during winery events or charity fundraisers. This not only attracts participants but also gives them a reason to visit the winery.
Setting Up Vouchers in eCELLAR
To set up vouchers, you first need to have “Vouchers” permission enabled. Then, create a voucher type in the Admin Control Panel (ACP). Although vouchers are generated outside eCELLAR, they must be added to the system for tracking and processing. Once in the system, vouchers can be used as tender in the POS.
How to Redeem Vouchers
When a customer uses a voucher, simply select “Voucher” as the tender type in the POS. Choose the appropriate voucher, enter the amount, and complete the transaction. It’s recommended to associate the order with a customer account for better tracking.
Managing Vouchers and Reporting
In eCELLAR, vouchers can be set to Active or Inactive status. Active vouchers will appear in the POS, while Inactive vouchers are only accessible if used in a saved order. Vouchers can also be searched through the Payment Search form and tracked in reports under the Payment Type category.
Important Considerations
- Treat Vouchers as Cash: Train all staff to handle vouchers with care and follow standard procedures.
- Not Valid for Online Use: Vouchers cannot be redeemed on the winery’s website.
- Detailed Tracking: All voucher transactions are recorded in the system, making it easy to monitor usage and generate reports.
Vouchers provide an excellent way for wineries to enhance customer engagement, run creative promotions, and build meaningful partnerships. Whether you’re using them to boost tasting room sales, reward loyal wine club members, or collaborate with local businesses, vouchers can add significant value to your winery’s marketing strategy.
